EARTH RHYTHM MINI VESSELS
I like to work with a variety of clay bodies each with very distinct characteristics. Tactile, gritty surfaces exposing clay bodies where possible to convey a direct sense of the material, honouring the texture of the earth I am working with. Evocative surfaces inviting a sense of touch, I have employed various techniques – sgraffito, fingerprints, thickly applied layers of slip, and rhythmic attachments referencing the patterns and rhythms of the natural world. A calming, warm, minimal palette is achieved through the use of slips, oxides, and minimal glazes.
